CardsCovered

Watch the video about the Campaign!

The Department of Communication's #CardsCovered social media face mask challenge encourages students, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater Cardinal community to show off their personal face masks.  Developed as a way to express unity during the COVID-19 pandemic, #CardsCovered provides a venue for Cardinals to connect with one another and display solidarity regardless of physical location.

On April 9, 2020, graduate students Natalie Uhl and Jalyn Woodard collaborated to launch #CardsCovered on @UofLComm social media.  They challenged Cardinals everywhere to display face coverings via selfies.  Then they asked participants to tag @UofLComm, use #CardsCovered in their posts, and challenge three additional friends/followers to post their own face mask selfies. Those who did not want to participate were asked to support CardNation through a donation to the UofL COVID-19 emergency response efforts at http://give.louisville.edu/covid19

The #CardsCovered campaign has been well-received and continues to gain momentum.  In its first two weeks, posts and images associated with the campaign were viewed over 250,000 times and the campaign message reached nearly 84,000 unique users.

Join the #CardsCovered Face Mask Challenge today.  Mask up, post a selfie with #CardsCovered, tag @UofLComm, challenge three others, and show your fellow Cardinals your unshakable UofL spirit!
