A jam packed Comm-Announce this week with news about scholarships, internships, and specialized diversity programs. Here's the latest from the UofL Department of Communication.

WIN A 100 DOLLAR GIFT CARD AND GET AN INTERNSHIP
Our 7th annual internship job fair, sponsored by the Department of Communication, our student Young Communication Professionals chapter, and the Career Development Center, is coming up next week. At the fair, students have the opportunity to network with employers and explore potential options. You will also be entered in a drawing to win one of three $100 Amazon gift cards just for attending.

Numerous Communication students obtained summer and fall positions at last year's event, which included employers representing fields that ranged from broadcast to advertising to human resources, sales and just about everything in between. The Communication internship fair will be on Thursday, February 28, 11:30 to 1:30 in the Red Barn. So start getting your resume ready.

DIVERSITY CAREER FAIR
This Wednesday, it's the Diversity Career Fair. A variety of employers with particular interests in hiring diversity/multicultural students will meet with students about career opportunities. That's Wednesday, 11 to 1 in the Multipurpose Room of the SAC. Sponsored by the UofL Career Development Center

DIVERSITY STRATCOMM CAREER FAIR
The American Advertising Federation is holding its annual Leo Burnett Mosaic Career Fair and Conference in Chicago to assist multicultural students interested in a career in some aspect of strategic communications. This event will take place on Friday, March 1. At the 2018 event, one in four students interviewed were offered either an internship or entry-level position. Application deadline is February 23. STRATCOMM SCHOLARSHIPS
The deadline is fast approaching to apply for a pair of $2,500 scholarships from the American Advertising Federation-Louisville. These scholarships are for students pursuing careers in an advertising-related field, with one specifically dedicated to minority students. Application deadline is coming up on March 1. PAID VOLUNTEER COORDINATION INTERNSHIP
One of the region's major events is looking for a paid intern. The St. James Court Artshow seeks a student to act as a volunteer coordinator with work beginning this summer and continuing through the conclusion of the art show in early October. PAID DIGITAL MARKETING POSITION

INTERNSHIP AT FORT KNOX
The US Army Cadet Command is now seeking applicants for its summer internship program. Positions are being offered in journalism, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, multi-media journalism, social media and public relations. A daily stipend is offered to cover the cost of meals and incidentals, and housing is included for those who are interested in that. Application deadline is April 5. LAST CHANCE TO SUBMIT TO POP CULTURE MEETING
PopCon! is a one day, academic(ish) conference exploring the intersection of pop culture, fandom, and academia. We are seeking submissions for workshops, panels, oral presentations, and more, whether they be fanciful or formal! The conference will be held April 5, 2019 on the Belknap campus.
