Hope you had a good Thanksgiving break. The fall has sure flown by and the semester is now nearly complete! A couple of quick news notes for you and some new opportunities in this penultimate fall semester issue of Comm-Announce.
SEMESTER ENDS IN ONE WEEK
Next Monday, December 3 is the last day of the semester with Tuesday, December 4 as reading/stop day. Final exams run December 5 through December 11. Commencement exercises are scheduled for Friday, December 14. Then the spring semester begins on Monday, January 7.
SAVE THE DATE FOR THE SPRING INTERNSHIP FAIR
Coming in February, it is our 6th annual Communication Internship Job Fair, sponsored by our student Young Communication Professionals chapter. Last spring, more than 20 employers met with Communication students in the Red Barn and dozens of our majors ended up with internships as a result. This time around, it could be you. So mark your calendar for Thursday, February 28, starting at 11:30 am in the Red Barn. More details to come.

LAST CHANCE TO APPLY TO THE COURIER JOURNAL

PAID SUMMER NEWSPAPER AND PR INTERNSHIPS
Once again, the Kentucky Press Association will be offering $3,000 internships this coming summer with various newspapers and other companies across the state. Internships are available working in photography, online journalism, ad sales, reporting, and PR.
Several UofL Comm students have been awarded these internships over the past couple of years. All internships will run for a 10-week period this coming summer. For an application go to the KPA Web site (http://www.kypress.com/intern). Application deadline is January 31.
CULTURAL CENTER INTERNSHIP
