Happy Tuesday-hope you had a good Monday holiday. Here is the latest from the Department of Communication.

WORK FOR A KENTUCKY NEWSPAPER OR PR AGENCY THIS SUMMER
The deadline is fast approaching to apply for prestigious Kentucky Press Association internships in newspaper journalism and public relations. Several UofL Comm students have been awarded these internships over the past couple of years. All are paid positions $3,000) for a 10-week period this coming summer. For an application go to the KPA Web site (http://www.kypress.com/intern). Application deadline is January 31.

ARTS AND SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIPS
The College of Arts and Sciences has a number of scholarships available for returning students. Here are some that might be of interest to Comm students:

Wilma Shaw Roseman Award: for full-time undergraduate students with substantial financial need and evidence of strong motivation to complete a degree. Minimum award is $3000; number of awards varies.

Arthur D. Yocom Scholarship: for an undergradute student who plans a career in public or community service. Applications from non-traditional students are encouraged. Award is $1000.

Ken Terrill Memorial Award: for undergradute students who have demonstrated leadership in or service to the LGBT community of UofL. Minimum award is $500. Number of awards vary.

Mary Craik Scholarship for Women Students: for undergraduate or graduate women. Award amounts and number of awards vary.
