Communication 434
Prerequisite: COMM 201. Explore the development of global media by examining the social, political, and historical trends of globalization. Investigate the differences between national media systems, the impacts of international and national policies on information flows, and how these influence individual media choices and perceptions of reality. This course uses a central text, popular press articles, video, and audio in a discussion-centered format. Students learn and practice writing skills via workshops and a series of short essays and revisions.
