U of L Oral Communication Program

Kelsey Blocker

Hey there! My name is Kelsey Blocker, I am a Communication Major at the University of Louisville and beginning my first semester as a Speech Mentor. I am here to help you create a speech, and give you tips and feedback on how you can properly deliver the message you intend to share.

I am passionate about public speaking because it motivates me to become a better communicator and teaches me how I can improve my communication in my close relationships and professional endeavors. I realized my passion for communication through the many courses UofL has to offer and am learning how to turn a weakness into a strength.

One thing I enjoy showcasing when public speaking is emotional intelligence, being able to express self-awareness, empathy, and helping others manage their own emotions is morally fulfilling to me. I value meaningful, thought-provoking conversations or speeches about controversial topics and new perspectives on life. Some of my personal interests include; expanding my creativity through Pinterest, exercise, creative writing, listening to alternative pop and r&b, and photography.

I look forward to helping you with your presentations!
