Comm 510: Culture of India

Join us on a life changing visit to India, a rapidly changing country with a rich culture and history! In North India we will visit New Delhi, Agra, Varanasi & Jaipur and in South India we will visit Manipal, Udupi, and Moodabidri.

The Fall course Comm. 510-04/AST 501: Field Study in India, is open to undergraduate and graduate students for 1 to 3 credit hours. You will participate in some scheduled class meetings M/W from 1-2:15 starting 03/27 to 06/05. For 1 credit hour you will participate in 3 pre-departure meetings. Tentative travel dates: June 4-25, 2017.

Cost: $4,350 which includes airfare, 3 credit hours, lodging, almost all meals, and admission to various sites. Limited scholarships available.

The class will cover religions of India, gender relations, communication, performing arts, traditional clothing, spices, and a glimpse of Indian history from ancient to modern times.
